Vangelis - Pulstar

Have you heard Pulstar from Vangelis? Of course you have. Vangelis has a natural talent for creating themes and rythmic structures that get in your head. Give it a listen here:


The first track on the Albedo 0.39 album from Vangelis is called pulstar. The opening of it is not quite known, but the main "riff" if one can call it that is almost instantly recognizable.

This track, from 1976, has been featured in various pieces of art like Carl Sagan's Cosmos education film, BBC documentary Micro Men and Death of a Princess
The album's title refers to the amount of light reflected by the surface of the Earth, 0.39.
